After a long break from painting, I have decided to bathe myself in colours again. My new work will be less ambitious and more exploratory, using smaller canvases than before, and seeing where they take me.
I love acrylic. Its texture evokes complex emotions, and it is easy to use. I usually have a theme and image in mind, but through natural evolution, the end result is a dimension apart from where I began. The same is true of internal change. The vessel always remains familiar, but the image is a new creation reflecting transformation.
I have been thinking a lot about how to exorcise destructive feelings and wants in constructive and healing ways. Here’s a type of answer to this question:
